Death Can Come Anytime

As part of the security arrangements for local government elections, the Sindh government has decided to position 35,057 police and 7,400 Rangers personnel to guarantee even electioning in Karachi on December 5.

Moreover, Pakistan Army will also position 10 companies, each of which has a force of 80 personnel, said Home Secretary Mohammad Waseem during a press conference in the Chief Minister’s House on Friday.

According to the reports, the Pakistan Rangers have been given powers to take action inside polling stations during the December 5th local government (LG) elections in Karachi.

The port city would be going for the elections in the third and final phase of the LG polls in Sindh. Karachi has six districts, including Karachi East, Karachi West, Karachi Central, Karachi South, Malir and Korangi.
The security has tightened after the sad incident when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on a military police vehicle which was struck in traffic on the  main MA Jinnah Road.

The bike riders took head shots of the military personnels who were sitting inside the vehicle. COAS General Raheel Sharif responded to the incident and said that such kind of attacks couldn’t shatter our determination against terrorism.
